As the 2024 season moves from indoors to outdoors, I do take some time to reflect on recent events and offer some thoughts and musings.
We must always, always, try and remember that to stand still in events and not learn from previous productions and creations, would be criminal.
This year a promise was made (although I told no-one) that KSPS would repay and re-align itself with the local community. I'm so pleased now that 2024 is drawing in, that KSPS has managed to fulfil that promise with 2025 looking even more postive.
Several of our colaborators have been providing support for our Community based events for several years, and recently KSPS has been in a position to be bale to engage them professionally on projects. Further more, previous students and crew from outside the KSPS world (yes, the theatre day job) have been engaged too as part of KSPS and this really does fill us with immense pride.
Laterlly, we have been interacting with new students and those early into their event and performance career; taking them on their first steps into the world of events with KSPS mentoring them. This is something we aim to grow and grow in 2025, alongside working with our new partners in the local community.
Folks, in short... we all live and breath in the same space. So, lets take a look around, and see what good we as organisations can do for the betterment of our industries, communities and in particular, the young people around us.
The images are a mix of my earliest shows and some more recent... but all with familar faces from all facets of theatre! I wouldn't be in this position now, if those with more experience around me, had taken the time to light the creative spark and passion within while passing on their experience.
